Pandurunga Farm open days are a great introduction for people who are interested in Permaculture. We generally conduct a tour of the main garden area and explain the poultry systems we have in place. We have different examples of composting systems, mulching systems and introduce many different plant foods that grow very easy in this climate. You can bring your bathers for a swim if you want and the kids generally have a great time. Bring a plate of food to share if wish to stay for lunch. A donation would be great for the information shared.

AN INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE DESIGN
This two day workshop is for those who wish to apply design for sustainability and food systems using permaculture principles based on our natural environment. This workshop is very beneficial for individuals who wish to live healthier lives by growing some of THEIR own organic food, or, have just purchased a block of land and are not quite sure where to start. Great to do before building your home. It also benefits our farming community, our school community, planners, architects, designers or anyone interested in sustainability.
We cover; Ethics, Natural patterning, Basic permaculture principles including sectors and zones, Landscape hydrology. Participants can be guided through the designing of their own property; house yard, balcony, farm, school (or parts thereof) and much more.
Generally 9.00AM to 4.00PM both days.

COMPOSTing And mulching
This 1 day workshop, @ Pandurunga Farm, has been designed to share information and skills about the importance of compost and mulch for any type of plant growing in the tropics. We will look at different types of composting systems, liquid fertilizers from compost and how to apply your compost when its ready for use. Passive composting with the use of mulches and many different types of mulching. This workshop is slightly more advanced than the Introduction to basic composting workshop we also provide. (see below)

AN INTRODUCTION TO BASIC COMPOSTING
This 3 to 4 hour workshop is great for householders who wish to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, schools wishing to establish a composting system or farmers wishing to reduce on farm costs.
We cover what ingredients are required to make good compost and why it is important to use them, how to set up your composting area, where best to locate it and some trouble shooting tips. We use real products and relate knowledge directly to individual circumstances.

THE HARVEST
A great day of collecting produce from the garden. Exploring the many different leafy greens, fruits and tropical starches, with a focus on what's in season at the time and what we have available. Many handy tips about how to grow the plants, how to harvest them and examples of how to prepare the produce for the table. Be a part of our lunch coming together. We can also provide plant material for participants to take home to start growing for themselves.

COOKING FROM THE GARDEN
A day at Pandurunga Farm, harvesting from the garden and preparing lunch to be enjoyed by all and includes harvesting and preparing a meal that can be taken home for dinner. Ingredients for meals will be relevant to what's available at the time of year.

BASIC HOME FOOD GARDENING
One of our most popular workshops, the Pandurunga farm, Basic Home Food Gardening workshop is a great introduction to perennializing your food growing to simplify your gardening experience in the tropics. We introduce you to garden establishment techniques, no dig gardening, feeding your garden and the many different tropical food plants that most people have never even heard of. We use a type of spinach as mulch and you can have this abundance too. We try our best to answer most home gardening questions and provide plant material for people to take home and get started growing there own.
